Opendemic is a crowdsourcing app which aims to fill gaps in COVID-19 data; it allows users to anonymously share their locations and health status as well as receive alerts about nearby cases, both potential and confirmed.
Problems and Purpose
Given concerns about a lack of data due to inadequate testing, David Hachuel and his business partner developed their new Opendemic application to crowdsource information on potential and confirmed COVID-19 cases. As such, users can better inform their own decisions about social distancing.
