Researchers evaluated the implementation of an online tele-coaching CBE intervention for persons living with HIV (PLWH).

Problems and Purpose

Using the RE-AIM Framework80, the specific objectives of this study were:

  1.  Reach: To determine the extent to which adults living with HIV participate in the intervention;
  2.  Effectiveness: To assess the impact of the intervention on physical activity, health, and engagement in the care cascade;
  3. Maintenance: To assess engagement in exercise for PLWH over time (physical activity, adherence);
  4. Implementation & Adoption: To evaluate the
  5. process (strengths, challenges, accessibility, cost, fidelity)
  6. feasibility of sustainability of the implementation, from the perspective of PLWH, representatives of community-based organizations (CBOs), health and fitness centres, health providers, and policy stakeholders to build capacity, products, and considerations for broader implementation.

Gender considerations and differences as recommended by CIHR81 pertaining to the extent, impact, engagement and process of the intervention, were also to be explored.
